Abstract

We present a clinical-surgical case with a diagnosis of Marfan’s Syndrome, which was admited in our center with clinical signs of heart failure, been diagnose with severe mitral regurgitation. It was observed in the studies carried out that the diameter of the aotic root did not surpass 40mm. It was discussed in medical staff and it was decided to perform a mitral valve plastia and placement of a dacron aortic wrapping around the ascending aorta. The technical aspects of the surgical intervention are discussed and a review of the subject is made arriving at conclusions.
